Maybe you get tired of these but it is kind of a big part of my physical fitness and social life and I think other people could benefit from being involved so here we go!

This weeks Hash took us to the far East side of town to one of the better looking start points that exists on our Chiang Mai rotation. I would be lying if i said I knew exactly where it was but that is ok because it isn't really up to me and I ride there in a pickup truck bus that is called a "songtaew" anyway.

We had a pretty crappy turnout for this run but it is that time of year where the seasonal Hashers return to their home countries to enjoy the spring and according to members that have been doing this far longer than I have it is a normal fluctuation in attendance. Whatever! It was fun anyway.

We begin and end at this lake in the middle of a sparsely populated housing community and while most of our run took us into fields and jungle area as well as some longan farms, a lot of it felt like we were nearly trespassing. No one normally gets on our case because i think a bunch of mostly white people that all of a sudden are jogging on your land in Asia is more of a WTF surprise than anything that actually angers anyone. It does seem a bit strange to me that we don't actually ever have permission to be doing this, but we do it anyway.

This trek was mostly flat, and that made me happy because the hills kill me but i can run for ages on the flatlands. Everyone finished in about an hour or so and it took us just over an hour.

Back at the meeting point we did our usual sitting down and making fun of one another and drank a bunch of beers. I think people were pretty tired this time because mostly people were really nice to one another.... this is not our style :)

It was great fun as it usually is and I think I actually took it much easier on the brews than I normally do because i don't have a hangover today.

The "hare" (the person who lays the trail) brought his doge-baby and that is always a welcome addition to the circle as well. All in all, it was a great time and I always look forward to the next one. Isn't it great when you actually enjoy exercise?

As usual I strongly encourage you to look into whether or not your area has a Hash House Harriers chapter.

They are a global organization and are a great group of people and a wonderful community to be involved in. Once you are a member of one of them, you are a member of all of them. Dont' worry if you are not fit, most of us aren't either!
