Description from Strava:
I was tempted to call this post 'goose step', but that has some bad vibes. There are a group of geese who fly over us each day recently with lots of honking and I saw them as I set off today. I assume they go somewhere to feed, but there will not be much grass to nibble. It has been a mostly dry summer, but the forecast suggests that could change over the next week. The forecast rain does not always materialise, but this looks promising.
This was a gentle run after my long one of Sunday as my legs are still a bit tired. I did my usual loop up the hill and it was nice out there. I like that a lot of it is away from traffic. There are signs up in the village about a road closure, but I could not see where it might be and traffic seemed to be coming through.
There was a slow bit on my run when I took a photo to include. My phone took a while to sort itself out and let me restart my podcast listening. That was a mix of politics and science. I feel the need to keep up with developments in both, but the science tends to be more hopeful. Divisive politicians spreading hatred make me angry. There are good reasons why I gave up some social media, especially when it is run by a nasty billionaire. I prefer more open platforms such as Mastodon and Hive. Let me know if you are on either. This post will go on the latter anyway via the @strava2hive service.
Hivers should check out the Hive Thrive show that goes out live on Discord every Tuesday. There is some fun chat in the chat channel. Hive is full of smart people.
Have a great day and run free!
