Well, so glad to make it to another needleworkmonday, and as expected, I will be sharing with us how I made my birthday outfit. It's funny how when it's others' birthdays, I easily come up with different style inspirations, which they eventually love, but I had a hard time coming up with what I want to make for myself. I searched through Pinterest the weeks leading up to my birthday and still couldn't decide until the last minute, guess what? I made my outfit the night before my birthday.
I wonder how often we fall into this risk as designers, always making our outfit at the last minute. Also, currently writing my current semester exams was another reason for the last-minute rush, but thankfully, my outfit came out looking stunning as I imagined it, and everyone was asking me if I really made it myself or got it from the boutique lol
To make my blouse, I made use of a sequin fabric, and did some spiral design using organdy fabric and fishing line, while for my skirt, I made use of pleated fabric, also known as sunray over here
At first, I wanted a blue outfit, but when I saw the sequin fabric, I liked the pink better, hence my pink outfit
<
For the blouse, I used a bustier pattern and lined the sequin lace fabric with silk fabric
Then I made the neckline assymetric
cutting And sewing a short length puffy sleeve around the full armhole,
And that completes the making process of my beautiful outfit. I hope you love this unique birthday look.
