Since delving into the world of photography as a hobby, sometimes I have thought about turning it into a more professional pursuit, where I create works to be paid by others. However, since I started doing it some time ago, quite a few clients have backed out when I showed them my photography service rates.
Of course, as a photographer, we base our price list on the gear we have and the experience we have gained over time, which is far above everything else. Since I started photography several years ago, I have gone through many things, so that I can produce photos like now.
However, it seems that some people still think that doing a photo shoot session is a very easy thing. Just by pressing the shutter button, the photo will instantly look good. But in reality, it's not like that. As photographers, we also go through trial and error in producing good photos. So, we can get to this point and understand the ins and outs of lighting.
In addition, creating a portfolio certainly incurs a lot of costs. In the process of becoming a professional photographer, we certainly spend a considerable amount of money so that the results can attract potential clients, and of course, we also want the photos to be good for ourselves. And sometimes, many people do not know this, so they consider photography services to be very expensive.
However, regardless of whatever budget we want, sometimes we still lose to the needs that we must fulfill, so we have to accept client requests with limited budgets. But, even so, I have a principle that no matter what budget I receive, I will still try my best to produce good works, so that someday there will be no more bargaining between me and clients.
Here is a food photography session that I did for my client. Although on a limited budget, I still want to produce good photos for his business, so that potential buyers are tempted to buy his products.
The most difficult thing to do in this photo session is to showcase all the parts that are in the menu. As usual, the easiest way is to stick toothpicks on the bread, so that the bread does not move due to the full filling. In addition, small things like styling the food are also quite difficult in my opinion, one of which is arranging mayonnaise and tomato sauce, because of their quite thin texture, so I have to be quick in this photo session, if not, the mayonnaise and tomato sauce will spill everywhere.
I hope you like my photos, just like my client who also likes the results of this photo session. Thank you. Warm regards from me.
