NATURAL GROOMING

I came across Man Cave products as I move to a much more natural, ethical and vegan lifestyle. As they say on the box of the Adventure set "The Adventure Starts in the Bathroom" and that is true, but it's also where I made some of the biggest changes for my health and lifestyle. I threw out all products with Sulphate and Parabens in them, stopped using toothpaste with Sodium Fluoride in it and ceased using Aerosol based deodorants and any product with Aluminium and Alchohol in them.

I came across Man Cave in my search for ethical, natural based bathroom and hygiene products. Being very impressed with the two products of theirs I am already using, the Cedarwood Shower Gel and the Eucalyptus Deodorant, I contacted them and asked if I could review some of their products and they very kindly sent me their 'The Survival Set' gift box, it being aptly named for the main subject matter of my channel and their ethical approach to hygiene products being something which I think not only myself but a growing number of people are now far more interested in. They've been kicking around since 2010 so fairly new company, but their products are certainly starting to get attention and Awards!

Personal Hygiene is a very important part of being healthy and therefore for being prepared. The skin is a huge surface area through which toxins and chemicals can pass through and get direct, unfiltered access to the bloodstream. Therefore what you use on your body and the local environment around you can have a significant short and long term affect on your general health.

I like using Man Cave products because:

  • Not tested on animals
  • Use Natural Ingredients and Extracts
  • Sulphate and Paraben free

Anyways, here is The Survival Set, it's contents and ingredients for each item you get in the set.

PRESENTATION

Nicely designed and presented box, definitely outdoor themed with the map and elevation graphics on the box and the bottles of the products themselves.

GIFT SET CONTENTS

The rear of the Gift Box has the products listed on the back saying "The Natural Defence products in this Gift Set do not contain Parabens, Sulphates, (SLS, SLES), Synthetic dye, Petrochemicals or ingredients from animal sources."

All very important reasons to use these products or any other that actually cares about what they are producing and what their customers are consuming.

THE PRODUCTS

• Caffeine • SHAMPOO

Clean & Strengthen with Caffeine, L-Arginine, Shea Butter, Panthenol & 8 Essential Oils.

I don't have much hair because I have it shaved short all the time, but when it was long enough to use this shampoo on it, it felt very clean and soft :-)

• Willowbark • FACE WASH

Cleanse & Purify Skin with Willow Bark, Green Tea, Spinach Extract, L-Arginine, Vitamin E & 12 Essential Oils.

Sounds good to me!

• Lemon & Oak • SHOWER GEL

"Cleanse, Enrich & Moisturise Skin with Lemon Oil, L-Arginine, Bergamot, Vetiver & Sandalwood."

Some nice fragrances in this one. I love the Cedarwood Shower Gel, so I'm certain this one will be just as good.

• Original • MOISTURISER

Hydrate, Mattify & Stimulate Skin with Caffeine, Borage Oil, Shea Butter, Vitamin E & 12 Essential Oils.

I don't normally use moisturisers unless they have something in them for summertime which helps keeps the bugs away and I've found that since drinking distilled water my skin is not as dry anyways, but I'll definitely give this a go!

• Olivestone • FACE SCRUB

Exfoliate & Smooth Skin with Olive Stone, Horse Chestnut, Zinc PCA, L-Arginine, (sensing a theme here :-) ), Aloe Vera & Grapeseed Oil.

Like moisturisers I don't really use scrubs, but I'll give this one a go, I feel there's nothing in this or any other product that I wouldn't want on my skin, so why not give it a bosh?

• Conditioning • STYLE CREAM

Whiskey Scented, Natural Haircream.

This is definitely going to be the LAST product I test because I'll have to grow my head hair first for it to make a difference! Haha

FINAL THOUGHTS

A good all round set for the male who is already 'well groomed' and wants a good selection of products to maintain their everyday man grooming and to preen oneself with. I really like Man Cave products and you can tell from the ingredients, the design and the ethical approach to their product lines that they actually and honestly DO care about animals, the environment and the consumers using their products.

When you use their products you are not greeted with the chemical smells that mainstream rubbish bathroom products have in them. I can't use mainstream products anymore due to their horrible chemical based ingredients, they just smell horrible. Plus why use products that every other man is using!?

Since coming across Man Cave products I've re-thought about what I'd use whilst out and about in Nature or for emergencies, but I'll be covering more about that in future posts and video's.

Good job Man Cave and keep up the good and honest work.

Be safe and be prepared
