Everyone in Tony's household heaved a sigh of relief when Obioha secured admission into the university. At least he will be leaving for the hostel and there will once more be peace and tranquillity at home. He was admitted to study Industrial Mathematics. Soon, every necessary fee was paid and he left for the hostel.

After settling down in the university, he made some new friends. From among these friends he discovered that he was drawn more to Daniel and Petrus. They were of like minds and worked together. Before the end of the session, Obioha had become known for some certain traits. He was a bright student. He also did not lack money. He was known for gangsterism. His two friends introduced him to more friends and before long he had become a member of a popular club in town.

Soon he was noticed by someone who had known him all his life, who did not like him much and who was a member of one of the secret cults on campus. He had influence and affluence and commanded quite an authority among the students.

One evening as Obioha was drinking with some of his friends in a nearby pub, he noticed some boys moving in on them. They came to where they were sitting.

Someone wants to see you," one of them said to Obioha.

"Who could that be?"

"Follow us and find out,"one of them said as they made to leave.

Obioha sat undecided. After conferring with his friends, it was agreed that Obioha should not go along with the boys. They decided that whoever it was should come over to them rather than the other way round. The strange boys however did not return for him when he failed to follow them.

Obioha and his friends finished their drinks and left for their hostel. When he reached his room, his roommate told him he had some visitors who left a letter for him. He read the letter and it simply said:

"You are wanted at the school auditorium; behind the main entrance at 8p.m. Don't fail to come".

He looked at his watch and it was ten minutes to nine. What kind of joke is this? he wondered. After thinking it over, he decided to ignore the letter. He rather lay back on his bed trying to rest.

Twenty minutes later, he was roused by a tap on the door. He immediately sat bolt upright. He looked at his roommate who was reading in his bed. He immediately closed his book and made for the door.

"Don't open it!" he said.

"Let's find out who's at the door"

"No."

As they were arguing the door was kicked open and with it came gunshots. There was confusion. His roommate was pushed back into bed and beaten up. obioha was also beaten and later abducted.
