Hey hivers, it's Saturday here in Australia and that means the weekend is well and truly in gear! I'm in first right now, coffee, breakfast and this post then I'm grabbing second, third and fourth gears as I get rolling into my Saturday fun!
My wife Faith is working today and it's a wet, and unseasonably cold day here, but that's not enough to stop me from deploying with the same gusto I would usually apply to a Saturday...I'm fuelled with coffee, bacon and eggs on toast...And some diabetic-tablets...So am completely ready to smash Saturday!
I'm heading to the range for a rifle competition shortly. It's nothing I'm taking too seriously, just a warm up for a two day event coming up in a few weeks which I have to travel for. I want to work some cobwebs out of my trigger finger, if indeed cobwebs can form in under a week, as I shoot a lot...In truth though, this rifle event in a few weeks is something a little different from the normal hence some additional effort.
I'll head home after a burger or some such thing for lunch and do a few jobs around the house so I can leave Sunday free for hiking with Faith.
Tonight we're heading over to her mum's house for dinner...I'm cooking!
Erm...Well, I call it cooking, but it's really just heading to the local Indian restaurant and grabbing some takeaway food. Let's just go with cooking G-dog style. We'll watch a movie as well tonight.
Faith's mum has her appointment with the oncology specialist on Wednesday next week to find out how severe the secondary cancer she has is and will almost certainly have an operation date booked if surgery is an option so...She's feeling a little nervous about that, hence the visit tonight to take her mind of it.
Sunday we're hiking; A place not far from home called Anstey Hill which sits just at the foothills of Adelaide. There's nice views, some ruins, creeks and loads of animals in their natural environment like grey kangaroos and koalas, birds and such. The link in this paragraph will fill you in. It's not strenuous although there are some fairly steep inclines, (there's eight mountain bike trails there so it's steep enough) and whilst being close to civilisation we may not see another soul. We'll take some snacks in a back pack, hike and then lay back and have some lunch. The weather is likely to play along too, a cool 19 degrees Celcius and sunny.
Anyway, that's about it for now...A brief outline of my weekend.
Take a look at the weekend-engagement topic here for a chance to meet new people, get engaged, have some fun and win some hive transferred directly to your wallet.
It's also been great to see comments gaining some big votes in the #weekend-engagement topic post this week...Commenting is the way forward, the best way to build your profile and gain exposure...Yes, even better than posting! So get involved week on week and watch your profile grow!
Thank you to the account dropping those big votes too...I'm not into tagging people that show such generosity as they usually don't want the exposure, however they know who they are and I want to show my appreciation on behalf of those accounts voted on.
Have a great weekend y'all...Get after it in a big way...The time that slips past this weekend will never come back around!
