I don't mean me...although those four words could be used to describe me I suppose, it depends on the age of who's saying it and whether the person thinks I'm good or not. But I'm getting ahead of myself here, let me get back on track.
It's the weekend and so far it's been a good one. I had a bit of a tool malfunction at the tool shop due to going there for something specific and then not wanting to pay for the one I wanted (and not being willing to buy a lesser version). I know, it's a conundrum (which I'll probably solve by buying the bloody expensive one) but I walked out with no tools on this occasion.
It's been a very hot day so I did a little project inside, nothing too complex, had a snooze and read and wrote for some of the day too. Oh yeah, I made some awesome pizza pockets (low carbohydrate ones) which were totally scrumptious as well.
I'll be out later tonight, a friend's BBQ, which is going to be cool, a gathering of some folks I value and have a lot of time for. I usually host these gatherings at my place but the other chap put his hand up to do it and I'm ok with that - I'll get to turn up, do very little, and (hopefully) leave before clean up time.
Sunday will be a work day, a DIY day, as it'll be cooler - a perfect chance to catch up on a few things I've left undone.
One of those things is my vegetable garden beds which are looking quite sad and sorry. I blame the extreme heat for that and to be honest I think the crop is pretty much ruined but I'll see what I can salvage from it. I also need to open up some driveway drain grates and clean out leaves and debris - A job I can't stand doing, but have to. We've only had 7mm of rain all summer (which ends in six days) and I'm expecting some downpours so getting ahead of the game with my drainage and gutters is the right thing to do. There's a few other things besides.
I think I'll be able to avoid having to make dinner on Sunday night, my girl has got my back there as she's making an Asian grilled chicken and noodle salad apparently. I'm sure she'll have a secondary option in the advent of this new recipe not working out but I'm hoping it does because it sounds nice. Later, we'll finish off the final episodes of the series we're watching and later still get into bed and...or stay on the couch and...
Anyway, for this week's #saturdayselections post I'm sharing some fucken old tracks that somehow managed to get played from my Spotify playlists this week. They're good though, sort of catchy and all. It's also fun to think back to where I was and who I was when these songs were released.
