It's never too late to start new traditions right? Come on, doing the same thing gets boring - Life is short, far to short to get stuck in a rut!

So tonight we're making a Christmas eve dinner of...Tempura vegetables and silver whiting fillets. If you don't know, tempura is a Japanese food, lightly battered stuff. I know right? Certainly not our typical Christmas eve meal!

You may be wondering what the hell is going on but it's quite elementary really...My sister in-law is Japanese. Ah, it all makes sense now right?

The silver whiting has been caught here in South Australia at Whyalla, by me, the g-dog, and we've also got green beans, sweet potato, jap pumpkin and shredded carrots and onions mixed together. This will be paired up with Japanese rice and served with tentsuyu sauce...LEGIT y'all!

You can see some of the pre-cooked vegetables above. They have been cut by the master...Yep, the g-dog, and right now, as I write this, the girls are frying them up.

Following is the batter preparation, frying and the finished product.

So, basically that's about it...I'd like to hang around and write some more but...I've got tempura to eat!

Hopefully y'all are having a great night and making memories with your families close by, just like us...This could be a new traditions for us...This is why I've got Faith paying close attention so she knows how to make it next year! 🙂

Later y'all.
