Yesterday I made a walk around the park. I had seen the geese had little goslings so I brought my camera.
The Egyptian Geese is native to Northern Africa; south of the Sahara and the Nile Valley.
Ancient Egyptians considered these geese as sacred. They appear in a lot of artwork from the ancient Egyptians.
Nowadays they have also established in Western Europe, the US and New Zealand.
The population in The Netherlands has started with just a couple of birds that escaped from captivity.

I spotted mom and dad at the side of a pond and their goslings were cuddling together. I think it were 6 of them. The little ones don't have the notable brown spot around their eyes yet.

They look so fluffy and adorable...

One of them decided to go for an adventure, but was soon brought back to his brothers and sisters by it's mother.

The goslings look fluffy and cute, but their parents aren't. They are very protective and aggressive. They even scare away foxes and expel all other birds from their territory.
