In my last review I explained that I had used ChatGPT to find a series for my wife and I to watch. The series it suggested (DeptQ) was quite a good match, so I gave this information back to ChatGPT and asked to give us some new suggestions. One of the titles it came up with was: "Fool me once".

Fool me once

Fool Me Once is a British thriller series on Netflix. The story is about Maya Stern (Michelle Keegan) a former military helicopter pilot.

The story starts with the murder on Mayas husband. He got killed when they walked together in a park.
As a single mom she has a nanny. On one day her man Joe, who supposed to be dead, is captured on the nanny cam.
She doesn't believe her eyes and shows it to the nanny. The nanny then peppersprays her and runs off with the SD card.

Maya starts looking for answers, but friends and family think she has been hallucinating. She doesn't give up and discovers that not all things are what they look like.

At the same time, police officer Kierce is investigating the murder. He suffers from blackouts which he tries to hide and doesn't like the junior colleague that he has been assigned.

The series has eight episodes that are between 40 and 50 minutes each. It's an exciting whodunnit with some unexpected twists. We found the series so exciting that we finished watching it in just one week.

My impression

It's an interesting mystery. Is Maya going mad or is she right that something is wrong?
She also has flashbacks to the time she was in the army, so it could also be the Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS).

Despite all the plot twists, I had a feeling where the story was heading as the series progressed, and I was right 馃槈.

Although it was a little predictable for me, we still enjoyed this series.
I would certainly recommend it when you like mysteries with a bit of drama.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
