July 2023’s HSBI Rewards for the FreeCompliments Community Have Been Sent Out!
July has closed itself upon us, welcoming the new month of August. We are continuing our program of rewarding our members and participants as outlined here. As a celebration for breaking 100 members in this community, I promised to reward all current members 2 HSBI, rather than 1, and August 1st was the day that these and other monthly rewards have been sent out. Rewards for posts and successful referrals have already been sent out throughout the duration of the month.
The Rewards Sent Out on August 1st
Wow just WOW! I’m running dry here, folks, but I love it. The growth in this community has been absolutely spectacular.
I will mention that I rounded up on many of these rewards (i.e. someone with 5 comments or threads would be rounded up to 10 so they’d get 1 HSBI). This was not not only out of generosity, but due to a margin of error and appreciation of effort at contributing to the community.
A few of the transfers at the end were for posts; I typically award those the same day I see them, rather than at the end of the month.

We’re all human here, and mistakes can happen. That’s why it’s best to double-check that you’ve been rewarded as promised.
The best way to check whether you received the rewards that you were due is to check up HSBI’s website and input your username. You’ll go here, enter your username, then click on transaction history, and finally on sponsored HSBI. Look for hive-140084 under “sponsor.”
If I missed out sending you on any rewards, please let me know promptly so that I can correct it. It takes up to a day to process what I sent out, so if you don’t see it by now, I’ll send whatever you let me know is missing.
Curation Updates
As recently discussed, we’ve increased our voting power. You’re going to start gradually seeing this increase over time, as we’ll be making daily posts and promoting them; this will increase traffic to the community and generate revenue which will be used for curation and for HSBI rewards. Personal curation from me using my own votes and DHEDGE will also continue!
Two Themed Days Incoming!
We’re going to introduce two more themed days, both likely this week or next week, as there are active discussions ongoing about how to implement them. Thus, we’ll have 7 complete themed days. Then, the community account will start creating posts for the themed days, every single day. Those who contributed to the ideas in building a specific themed day will receive beneficiary rewards from every associated post moving forward! Woohoo!
Other Funds / 2nd Layer Tokens
A little bit of an open secret, but prior to its release, I purchased 2500 DBOND tokens for the community. These tokens pay out daily interest in the form of DAB (and these can be fed into one another via staking, or if DAB tokens are held, then they produce Hive drips). A more thorough description can be found here.
Our strategy with DBOND/DAB is to stake them both, as frequently as possible, so that they can both grow each other, and we can eventually secure long-term rewards in terms of Hive. It’s going to take a long time, and we won’t see the rewards of this come around any time soon, but once we stop staking, the Hive is going to come rolling in.
We’re also collecting some other 2nd layer tokens, with the primary focus being Leo. All Leo gets staked, and thus our curation will also provide small rewards in terms of Leo. This will grow over time.
Conclusion
We’ve completed HSBI Unit payouts for the second month, and are finishing up the creation of themed days and finally increasing our curation rewards. The community is growing wonderfully, and the foundations for its functionality are being set in concrete. Once Hive as a whole has a resurgence of active membership, we’re going to explode in activity, earn lucratively, and most importantly: spread joy far and wide!
Don’t forget that if you add hive-140084 as a 10% beneficiary to your post, we’ll give it a Boost of 150 Ecency Points (or more if the work is of very high quality!). This is a small incentive to help support our mutual growth.
