SOS: The Ultimate Escape – Alpha Sign Up
SOS: The Ultimate Escape is offers a unique twist on the Battle Royale contest-style survival shooter genre, with sixteen contestants attempting to out-wit, out-fight and out-run each other as they retrieve a relic and escape from a monster-filled island.
We first featured SOS on Alpha Beta Gamer back in February during the first Alpha Sign Up, but a lot more details about the game have been revealed since then and they’re about the start the second phase of testing so we figured it was time for an update. It’s a multiplayer survival horror game from a team formed from many of the lead developers of Dead Space 1 & 2 that sees players building uneasy alliances as they enter an island, retrieve a relic and rush to the escape chopper.
You’re not alone on the island – it’s packed with fast and deadly monsters and there are only three seats on that chopper, so not everyone is getting off the island alive. Statistics show that contestants who work together stand a better chance of survival than lone wolves so teaming up is recommended. Forming alliances is all about personality and communication, with you using the power of your own voice to convince contestants to trust you – which is bound to make things a whole lot more personal if you decide to double cross them at the end!
The next SOS Alpha Phase will run from Monday the 26th of June until July 2nd, but there will be a Live Premier this weekend in which 16 popular Twitch streamers will face off against each other. The Twitch stream will be live here between 4 and 6 PM PDT Sat 24th and Sun 25th so you’ll be able to learn from their mistakes before entering the island yourself!
