After defending the tobacco plantation from Castillo's reinforcements using heavy turrets and destroying an chopper, Espada and I escaped on horseback past an enemy tank. Reaching Montero Farm, I met her father, Carlos, after he slayed a wild alligator, we secured a cautious alliance and completed the operation.
With the tobacco plantation under heavy assault, Espada urged me to hurry so we could make our way toward her father. The facility turned out to be one of Anton Castillo's major operations that Espada had infiltrated, and his military forces were pouring into the area to reclaim it.
Manually mounting a heavy machine gun on the lower deck, I unleashed a hail of high-caliber fire into the incoming waves of Yaran soldiers.
As our defensive position was overwhelmed by sheer numbers, we were forced to abandon the turrets and push toward the perimeter. Espada scrambled onto a vehicle turret to cover our flank while I stepped up to clear the frontline guards blocking our escape.
When an enemy attack helicopter suddenly swooped in to provide air support for Castillo’s troops, I sprinted back to a mounted gun and shredded the chopper, sending it crashing to the ground.
Clearing the immediate threat, I regrouped with Espada, who led me toward a pair of horses tied up outside the plantation boundaries. Mounting up, I followed her as we rode hard through the restricted zone, attempting to escape through remaining enemy patrols.
Out on the main road, Castillo’s forces escalated the pursuit by deploying an armored war tank to cut off our exit. Catching sight of the heavy armor ahead, Espada signaled a quick halt under a concrete bridge, hiding in the shadows until the metal beast rolled past.
Once the coast was clear, we resumed our ride through the countryside, successfully breaking line of sight with the army.
Along the way, Espada explained their deep resistance to Castillo's poisonous tobacco crops, though she noted her father only trust his own bloodline.
Arriving at Montero Farm as night fell, Espada pointed out Philly working nearby before leading me into the main courtyard.
There, we witnessed her father, Carlos Montero, wrestling a wild alligator in open combat, ultimately driving his machete into the beast to slay it with his bare hands.
Impressed by the display, Dani watched as Carlos turned around and immediately bristled at my presence. Espada stepped in to introduce Dani as a fighter from Libertad, arguing that their farm hands were agricultural workers rather than trained guerrillas, and that they needed outside help to crush Castillo.
Carlos spat on the dirt, remarking that Dani looked more like a tourist than a fighter, before grumbling that if this tourist screws them over, it would be on Espada's head.
With the operation officially completed, Dani contacted Clara to report on the Montero connection, while Clara encouraged him to keep embedding himself within their faction.
While Dani mentioned checking out the farm's facilities, my own immediate priority was breaking away from the campaign to freely explore the massive open world of the island.
How about we continue in another post?
