Recovery Day 27 - Disappointing... my training diary entry from July 3 2026
(I took this photo yesterday on my way to the office. I find it amusing what shapes the clouds sometimes form. What do you see here? A dog's head, a dragon's head, or simply nothing at all?)
Hi Actifitters,
I had actually planned a full upper-body workout for yesterday. In the end, I limited myself to dumbbell curls, overhand pull-ups, and, of course, close-grip push-ups. Unfortunately, I didn't see any improvement; the number of repetitions was identical to the last session. That’s somewhat disappointing, but ofها course I’ll stick with it. Here are the figures for the push-ups.
The next goal according to the training plan (47+):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 11 | 8 | 8 | max (min. 11) | 60 seconds |
My previous attempt (40):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 11 | 8 | 7 | 5 | 60 seconds |
Yesterdays attempt (40):
| set 1 | set 2 | set 3 | set 4 | set 5 | break between sets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 11 | 8 | 7 | 5 | 60 seconds |
As for my weight-loss challenge, yesterday the scale showed 300 grams more than the day before yesterday.
Mission 80 (Day 4 = 88.9 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0)
Today I weighed 89.2 kilos. That means I’m up another 300 grams compared to yesterday. If this keeps up, I’ll soon weigh 100 kilos instead of 80. ;)
But that is precisely the problem with weighing yourself every day: you simply don't get meaningful values. For this reason, you really should only weigh yourself once a week. Of course, I’m not letting that discourage me; I’ll keep diligently weighing myself every day until the time comes and I’ve reached my goal.
Mission 80 (Day 5 = 89.2 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0)
What kind of physical activity I’ll do today is still completely up in the air. Maybe I’ll go to the lake with my wife for a swim, or maybe I’ll just go for a long walk. I’ll just wait and see.
