"Route of the Week" and Dumbbell Test... my training diary entry from May 12 2026
(On May 2nd, during my walk in Berchtesgaden, this closure blocked my path to the Kälberstein ski jumping hill, which is over 100 years old.)
Hi Actifitters,
contrary to plan, I only completed one of the two suggested Zwift challenges yesterday. I opted for the "Route of the Week." When I started out, however, I still thought I would tackle the "Climb of the Week" later as well. Unfortunately, though, my right hamstring doesn't feel quite right. I didn't want to take any risks—especially since the "Climb of the Week" is relatively long this week.
Here are a few stats from yesterday's workout:
Duration - 0:29:01
Distance - 15.94 km
Elevetaion gain - 178 m
Average speed - 33.0 km/h
Maximum speed - 59.1 km/h
Average power output - 227 watts
Maximum power output - 539 watts
Average heart rate - 150 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 176 bpm
Average cadence - 91
Maximum cadence - 111
Oh right, I almost forgot... before my cycling workout, I picked up the dumbbells again—for the first time in quite a while—and did a few exercises. I'm curious to see how my shoulder reacts to it.
Since I can still feel my hamstring quite distinctly, I’m going to take it easy today—perhaps limiting myself to just my daily mandatory steps. Tomorrow is Father's Day, and I’ve planned a short hiking trip with two friends. It would be a real shame if that didn't happen because of a pulled muscle.
