El mirador natural entre Playa Parguito y Playa Puerto Abajo en la Isla de Margarita [ESP-ENG]

Hola, amigos de @hivemargarita, hoy paso por aquí para saludarlos y desearles la estén pasando bien.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mis experiencias y es que aprovechando las vacaciones escolares me escapé a hacer una ruta que tenía pendiente. No fui sola; me acompañaron mi hija y mi amiga Yamile. Nos fuimos a explorar esa montaña especial que está justo en el medio, dividiendo a Playa Parguito y Playa Puerto Abajo. De verdad fue una experiencia la que vivimos las tres.

Si son de la isla o están de visita, seguro saben que en nuestra pequeña Isla hay rincones muy especiales y te desconectan por completo. El camino hay que reconocer que es bastante largo y tiene su exigencia se van a encontrar con una gran cantidad de piedras en el suelo, así que hay que caminar con cuidado y tomarse su tiempo. A los lados del sendero te acompaña la vegetación más auténtica de nuestra costa. Está lleno de las típicas matas de playa y un montón de tunas que le dan ese contraste seco tan característico de los paisajes margariteños. Mi hija iba encantada descubriendo el camino y entre risas y fotos con mi amiga, el trayecto se nos pasó volando.

Pero lo verdaderamente increíble viene cuando vas avanzando. Las vistas son bellísima te dejan impresionada. Es un punto privilegiado porque, de un lado, puedes ver la inmensidad y el oleaje de Playa Parguito desde lo alto y del otro lado, se contempla perfectamente la tranquilidad de Playa Puerto Abajo.

Como pueden ver en la foto que les comparto, ese día el agua de Parguito estaba un poco revuelta y oscura, algo que a veces pasa por las corrientes y nos da un poquito de tristeza verla así; pero los que hemos subido esta montaña en otras oportunidades sabemos que esta playa es un espectáculo único y que su encanto jamás se pierde. Es el lugar perfecto para sentarse un rato, respirar la brisa marina tan sabrosa de esa zona y agradecer por los momentos sencillos que nos regala la vida en familia y con amigos.

Today I want to share my experiences with you—I took advantage of the school break to go on a hike I’d been meaning to do. I didn’t go alone; my daughter and my friend Yamile came along. We set out to explore that special mountain right in the middle, separating Playa Parguito and Playa Puerto Abajo. It was truly an experience the three of us shared.

Whether you’re from the island or just visiting, you surely know that our little island has some very special spots where you can completely unwind. It’s true that the trail is quite long and challenging—you’ll encounter a lot of rocks on the ground, so you’ll need to walk carefully and take your time. On either side of the trail, you’ll be surrounded by the most authentic vegetation of our coastline. It’s full of typical beach shrubs and plenty of prickly pear cacti, which give the landscape that dry contrast so characteristic of Margarita’s scenery. My daughter was thrilled to explore the path, and between laughter and photos with my friend, the walk flew by.

But the truly incredible part comes as you keep going. The views are breathtaking—they’ll leave you in awe. It’s a prime vantage point because, on one side, you can see the vast expanse and the waves of Parguito Beach from above, and on the other side, you have a perfect view of the tranquility of Puerto Abajo Beach.

As you can see in the photo I’m sharing, the water at Parguito was a bit choppy and dark that day—something that sometimes happens due to the currents, and it makes us a little sad to see it that way; but those of us who’ve climbed this mountain before know that this beach is a unique spectacle and that its charm never fades. It’s the perfect place to sit for a while, breathe in the refreshing sea breeze that’s so characteristic of this area, and give thanks for the simple moments that life gives us with family and friends.
