Hello friends, many years ago I spent drawing comic-style characters when I learned a very simple technique to draw bodies. With a few simple lines we can create the movements and poses we want. I decided to make a tutorial drawing to show how I do it but decided to make a known character to make it easier for everyone. I started the drawing with the lines for the poses and then I added the figure of Wolverine, I hope you like it.

I began the drawing on a cardboard that has a more porous surface than the papers that I have used previously, so I take advantage of it very well to make the pencil lines very smooth so that later it is not difficult to erase. The sketch consists of simple lines, but the most important lines are those of the shoulders, the back and the waist. If you look closely, the direction is somewhat inclined since comic characters usually have these poses, especially on the covers. After that I add a circle for the head and in the same way the lines for the legs following the direction given by the lines of the shoulders and the waist.

The second step is to begin to shape the entire body, to do so we draw soft lines only to delimit, remember that Wolverine, although he is small, is very strong, so the muscles are present. We make the body respecting the part of the muscles, both arms, chest and legs. After making the sketch of the body, using a darker pencil we begin to make the divisions of the muscles to better define the body. It is not difficult to make the muscles, we can use anatomy illustrations as guides, so we can see the direction and proportion of the muscles.

Once the process of defining the body is finished, we can start painting. This process is so good that instead of Wolverine, Deadpool, Spiderman or Captain America could also be made. This is how the comics are made, the bases always serve for all the characters, in this case male. To paint we use the primary colors without mixing, since the objective is to do it in a classic style, as you can see it is looking like the animated series of the 90s.

After the first layer of color we put two more layers so that the color is uniform. With a black marker we can then go little by little making the outline of the drawing, around the whole body we make the lines and in the same way for the divisions of the muscles. With an eraser we remove the lines that no longer serve us and that can hinder the color.

This is how the drawing of Wolverine in comic style has been, I had not drawn in this style for many years, I learned in a school when I was 20 years old. I liked the whole world of comics and that was what motivated me to try to learn like the great illustrators, I also learned to draw manga style and also satirical cartoons. I hope to be able to share my techniques for those styles in the future, for now I hope you liked it and that this tutorial will help you to make personal illustrations. I say goodbye see you soon, do not forget to comment what you think.
