Proceso de dibujo estructurado.
Hello, a while ago I shared some digital notes on drawing structure. On that occasion, it was a broad journey starting from the structure of objects, food, animals, and the human figure. I also made some notes on why, with a minimum understanding of structures, one could achieve a complete drawing, and I shared those images of the basic structure of the human figure. Today I return to this drawing, but I will go into more detail, explaining each part. I hope you like it and find it interesting.
This was the final result of the drawing; as you can see, I used only ink.
The drawing started with a very simple structure, trying to resemble, but without much precision, the reference photograph I used. I'm using the structure that Loomis shows in his book Fun With A Pencil. I'm marking especially the joints and the height at a little over 8 heads, although in this case I want the head somewhat tilted.
With the structure ready, I simply add muscles, since the structure works as a sort of skeleton. I'm not very skilled in muscles, but thanks to some YouTube videos, a few references, and the book Tronco, I've learned how to place some of them on the neck and limbs (I have traditional practice sketches of this on my blog). I used red for the structure and blue for the body.
The next step was simply to convert everything to grayscale and lower the opacity to ink the entire drawing. This kind of drawing looks very good in black and white, and as you can see, it's not perfect and is full of errors, but I think it undoubtedly communicates. I also used a small brush with a stippling pattern to create shadow areas on some muscles and on the face.
Done! Thank you for joining me for another day of drawing.
