Fridays and Saturdays are busy and I am inevitability AFK for most of the day. Yesterday's short stint in my weekend office was to round off February's Hive Power Up Day.

That's the feline family waiting patiently (not) for breakfast. They decided that Friday was a day to demonstrate their new found tolerance of each other. Just in the last day or so, they are much less scratchy and a whole lot more playful. It's good because this Cats' Mother sometimes tires of being the peace enforcer-separator.

Then, much later as we we heading out for our ritual Friday visit to the local -

If you look closely, and behind the leaves, you will see our resident guineafowl family. There is a new clutch of chicks. They are about 3 weeks old. There were 13. We haven't been able to get a more recent count. Ours is their garden. Often we don't see them and unwittingly wander into their space. Mr and Mrs fly at us aggressively believing we are a threat to their chicks. The Husband has had a couple of bloody scratches on the under sides if his arms: they fly at one's face and head.

"Bird brains," he grumbles.

Finally, after the pâté and playing with sourdough all day, it was salad time.

In the jar: lemon and dill marinated raw courgettes with fresh basil. Aftee my successful experiment last week, I decided to replicate the zucchini (courgette) salad for the market. This time, though, I replaced the tarragon with dill. I think it nicer, but as it's a herb that I struggle to grow, I have to plan to use it and remember to put it on the shopping list.

Speaking of dill. Another salad supper. Potato salad with a tangy mayo, dill and parsley. More comfort food and for me, who shouldn't be eating it, an indulgence and a good end to Friday and the week. More of that, perhaps, in another post.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.
