Colin was the lead singer in the garage punk band The Screaming Nerves!
Alice couldn't believe it. He didn't look like he was a musician. He looked so... normal!
But that band!
She had adored their music back in the day. She had all their singles and had once even managed to see them live - a few weeks before they broke up after the "incident".
Colin was smiling at her.
"You knew the group?" he asked.
"Knew them?" Alice said, returning his smile. "I was one of your biggest fans. Well, probably not the biggest but I had your singles. You look so different."
Colin laughed.
"I'm sure you do as well. It was twenty years ago."
Alice shook her head.
"God, I'm old!" she said. "Do you mind me asking what happened? Why did you split up? You were on the verge of the big time. Hadn't you just signed to a major label?"
Colin's expression clouded.
"I'd rather not talk about it," he said.
