Standing at the balcony with hands akimbo and looking across the other street, the agony of the separation hit hard on Laura. Tears could be seen flowing down her tiny cheeks. She was in no hurry to wipe them away. She allowed the tears to roll down freely.

The tears blurred her vision and at some point she stepped backwards, collected a white handkerchief and wiped the few that remained on her cheeks, for majority had dried up on its own.

In that sober mood an idea struck her. Just write him a poem, she reasoned. That way you'll pour out your heart to him. He may have a rethink about the whole saga.
Laura resisted that idea for that will make her look cheap. She knew she had done everything humanly possible t get the relationship going but a bad person is always a bad person and it has to end that way.

Slowly she retraced her steps back to the house and reached out for her transistor radio. She tuned into a station that played cool jamz althrough. That was enough to soothe her feelings, at least for the moment.
