Largo camino recorrido,
Y al llegar al gran muro impuesto
Por los años y el cansancio,
El salto inevitable nacia las arenas
De lo invisible,
Donde las huellas
Desaparecen borradas de repente.
En alguna gaveta
Los títulos y premios,
Se disputarán el trono de las cosas futiles.
Ebrios de olvidos imperdonables
De silencios insospechados
Se burlarán con asco,
Y brindarán por lo absurdo.
Imágenes estremecedoras
Pasarán cual caprichos,
Una simple sacudida de hombros
Despertará del letargo
Señalando ceñuda,
Que la vida es mucho más que eso.
Entonces un resorte
Ocasiona inmenso salto,
Hacia el mármol de lo verdadero
En inefable danza
Donde la familia es triunfo.

The Vicissitudes of Retirement. A Poetic Exercise.
A long road traveled,
And upon reaching the great wall imposed By the years and the weariness,
The inevitable leap toward the sands
Of the invisible,
Where footprints
Suddenly vanish, erased.
In some drawer,
Titles and awards
Will vie for the throne of futile things. Drunk on unforgivable oblivions
And unsuspected silences,
They will sneer with disgust
And toast to the absurd.
Chilling images
Will pass like mere whims;
A simple shrug of the shoulders
Will rouse one from lethargy,
Sternly pointing out
That life is so much more than that.
Then a spring
Causes an immense leap,
Towards the marble of truth
In an ineffable dance
Where family is triumph.
