In the past few months, i've made less and less pencil portrait. This is because i've been trying to find my act, know and perfect the form of art I will be using for the coming months. I started re-making cartoon characters from the 90's and I must say it really was fun. In the process of making, I got to see clips (on Youtube) of scenes I haven't seen in decades. I was primarily working on depth, highlight, contrast, texture, colour and background.
Sadly, I didn't get much feedbacks as i'd anticipated. Initially I was expecting comments that would improve my work and tell me it's deficiencies and also give me pointers so I could improve on it but then, nothing.
It was in one of those moments when i'd hit rock bottom that I remembered I always wanted to try pointillism. And so, I went through my brother's gallery (because at the time my phone was bad) and found this nice picture of a dog. I used a rough sheet because I wasn't expecting a thorough result but then I was shocked by what I ended up making.
The next day, I tried making another (this time of a person) and used a photo James Reno as my reference. It wasn't perfect but he was recognizable. And so, having tried these works out on paper, a thought crossed my mind as to whether I should use try it on the Medibang software. I knew very well that my system's touch isn't that responsive and so decided to make slanty dashes to fill in the gaps.
Please note that I haven't shared the above piece yet so when I do I would appreciate your understanding to this fact.
You can see that in this first piece, the drawing is not well defined as it has a see-through effect compared to the piece i'm sharing now...... I'm only experimenting as I go and I believe real soon that i'll end up with something great. At this point, i'd like to seek your feedbacks and implore you to stop by frequently as I grow this technique into something marvelously beautiful....thanks for your time....
the process.....
The weekend is here, i'm glad you made me a part of it. Thanks for the visit.
