HIVE OPEN MIC week 337 Exhaustion.

I decided to record and post this early. I have a ton of things to do, but I didn't want to spend time wondering which song to do and end up doing it at the last minute. I'm still a little hoarse, but I didn't want to try singing in falsetto again, so it might have sounded a little too loud—but personally, I liked it that way.

Hi everyone in the HIVE OPEN MIC community It’s eudarcabello@eudarcabello here, and this time I’m participating in Week 337, titled Exhaustion. I didn’t want to leave this post until the last minute—I always do my best to post on time each week, and this time I managed it. I hope to stay on schedule from now on, for real. The crazy thing is that I finally finished my grad school exams—they were really driving me nuts—even though I’m already out of the program because I failed one of the courses. As for my thesis, I’m still kind of slacking off, but it’s actually a project for my current job. So even though I’m no longer in the Marine Biology grad program, its shadow still haunts me. Let’s hope it’s over soon so I can see if another opportunity for grad school comes up. I find the song I chose to be incredibly liberating; its lyrics are among the most cathartic—in my opinion, of course—from this Mexican Spanish-language rock band, one of those that seems timeless, almost unchanged. I still haven’t managed to memorize this song, even though it’s not that complicated; maybe next time I try it, I’ll get the hang of it. I love that even though they might have more current songs or collaborations, they’ve never compromised their style—this definitely ensures that their longtime fans will always support them. They’re the best band of the past few decades, and I’m talking about Maná. It’s time to talk about the song titled “Stuck in a bar”. I didn’t want to keep racking my brain to see if another song would come to mind; I’m satisfied with how my choice turned out for this theme. Without a doubt, I needed to write this to release some tension, so it seemed like the right thing to do.

CLAVADO EN UN BAR

Source/Fuente

Bendita ¿Dónde te has metido? Maldita ¿Dónde te has metido?
**LYRIC** Here I am, completely hooked Drowning my sorrows in a bar Toasting to your love Here I am, abandoned Drinking tequila to forget And shake off the pain like this Where are you, my love? Where have you gone? Open your heart just a little Let yourself be loved, my heart Come and get me out of this bar I’m stuck, I’m hurting I’m drowning in a bar Desperate, forgotten, my love I’m drowning in a bar I know there are too many looking for you That many are after you But that’s not happiness And my love never wavers And my love will never, ever let you down Never ever Where are you? Damn it Where have you gone? Open your heart just a little Let yourself be loved, my heart Come and get me out of this bar I’m stuck, I’m hurting I’m drowning in a bar Desperate, forgotten, my love I’m drowning in a bar So desperate, so forgotten I’m drowning in a bar Let yourself be loved, my love I want to be your everything And your heart Come rescue my love I want to be your sun I want to be your sea No! Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Eh, eh Here I am, drunk Crying with rage in a bar Toasting to your love Here I am, completely stuck Drinking tequila to forget it all It’s not fair, my love So desperate, so forgotten I’m drowning in a bar So desperate, so forgotten No, no, no, no I’m drowning in a bar

I have to say that I was supposed to go to a political event today, but I didn’t go—I’m sure they’ll scold me—but yesterday I went to a World Beach Day event in another town farther away from my state’s capital. I’ve had enough sun already to want to spend a lot of time out in it again for this other event that doesn’t interest me.

On the other hand, even if I can relate to the subject matter—I’ve always known that teaching wasn’t really for me—maybe I’m just biased, but I’ve already gotten myself into this, and I can’t just walk away like that; I have to see it through. These students are pretty demanding. For example, one student who didn’t come to class is now asking me to explain everything to her—maybe over the weekend, or by making a video or voice memo, or something like that, to explain it to them online, We’ll see how we handle that.

I try to let all the things in my life flow, I might try to force everything a little bit, like with the Marine Biology postgraduate course or trying to be constant in Hive, but whatever ends up turning out, I know I will know how to accept it. Grateful for all the good things that have happened to me and the bad things that I have gotten rid of, for your support, I hope you also visit my other posts, good luck with your content and see you next week.
