Ingredients

For the Bowl:
🥔 4 cups of mashed potatoes (store-bought or homemade)
🌽 2 cups of frozen corn, thawed
🍗 8 crispy chicken strips (store-bought or homemade)
For the Gravy:
🧈 1 stick of unsalted butter
🥄 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
🥣 3 cups of chicken broth
🧄 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
🧅 1 teaspoon of onion powder
🧆 1 teaspoon of chicken bouillon
🌿 1/4 teaspoon of thyme
🌿 1/4 teaspoon of rosemary
⚫ 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper


Instructions

1- Prepare the Gravy:

  • Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir in the flour, creating a roux, and cook for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is golden brown, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  • Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, ensuring to combine well with the roux, and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  • Add the garlic powder, onion powder, chicken bouillon, thyme, rosemary, and black pepper. Stir well.
  • Reduce heat and let the gravy simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens to your desired consistency. Remove from heat and set aside.

2- Assemble the Bowls:

  • Heat the mashed potatoes and corn according to package instructions or until warmed through.
  • Cook the crispy chicken strips as per package instructions or until golden and cooked thoroughly.
  • In individual serving bowls, start by layering a base of mashed potatoes.
  • Add a layer of corn over the mashed potatoes.
  • Place two crispy chicken strips on top of the corn in each bowl.
  • Generously ladle the homemade gravy over the chicken and mashed potatoes to finish.

3- Serve:
