Si bien es cierto a todos nos gustan los regalos y pues nadie se niega a recibirlos. Hay regalos especiales, unos m谩s grandes que otros e incluso m谩s costosos, pero tambi茅n estan esos regalos que caracterizan a un pa铆s, regi贸n o cultura.
En diciembre, recib铆 tres regalos que vinieron de sitios diferentes, pero que para m铆 fueron muy especiales. Primero porque unos de ellos me recordaron parte de mis ra铆ces y segundo por que s茅 que quienes me los dieron, pensaron en m铆 estando all谩.

It is true that we all love gifts and no one refuses to receive them. There are special gifts, some bigger than others and even more expensive, but there are also those gifts that characterise a country, region or culture.
In December, I received three gifts that came from different places, but for me they were very special. Firstly because some of them reminded me of part of my roots and secondly because I know that those who gave them to me thought of me while I was there.
PER脷:
S茅 que la mayor铆a conoce estos productos y saben que la mayor parte de ellos no son Peruanos y pues no se equivocan, son en su mayor铆a productos Venezolanos, tra铆dos de Per煤. La verdad aprecio este detalle que tuvo conmigo mi hermana puesto que ella sabe cuanto extra帽o a Venezuela y que esos productos aqu铆 no los hay y si se consiguen son costosos.
I know that most of you know these products and know that most of them are not Peruvian and you are not wrong, they are mostly Venezuelan products, brought from Peru. I really appreciate this detail that my sister had with me because she knows how much I miss Venezuela and that these products are not available here and if they are available they are expensive.
Estos bombones de chocolate si son de Per煤, mi hermana me cont贸 que son hechos con el mejor cacao que ellos tienen y queda en el Pa铆s. Mi hermana estuvo viviendo all谩 unos meses.
De todos los sabores o rellenos, debo decir que solo no me gust贸 el de ciruela, era como chocolate relleno de mermelada y no me gust贸 esa mezcla de sabores, del resto, los dem谩s muy ricos.
These chocolate bonbons are from Peru, my sister told me that they are made with the best cocoa they have in the country. My sister was living there for a few months.
Of all the flavours or fillings, I have to say that I only didn't like the plum one, it was like chocolate filled with jam and I didn't like that mixture of flavours, the rest were very tasty.
Tambi茅n trajo ropa (camisas para todos) y zapatos para los m谩s peque帽os de la casa, unas replicas triple A de los Jordan, son muy buenos en comparaci贸n con los originales, son una muy buena imitaci贸n. Lo mejor es que le quedaron perfectos y ya los est谩n usando.
He also brought clothes (shirts for everyone) and shoes for the little ones in the house, some triple A Jordan replicas, they are very good compared to the originals, they are a very good imitation. The best thing is that they fit perfectly and they are already wearing them.
Venezuela:
Como muchos saben mi esposo estuvo en Venezuela y el no iba a perder la oportunidad de traernos algunos productos que consumiamos all谩 y aqu铆 no conseguimos, as铆 que en diciembre y a煤n hoy en d铆a, hemos podido disfrutar de algunos de ellos.
Cuando yo era ni帽a y viv铆a aqu铆 en Ecuador, recuerdo que mi pap谩 viajaba mucho a Venezuela. En una ocasi贸n se tard贸 un a帽o entero al regresar pero solo perdon茅 su ausencia ya que de su maleta sac贸 lo que para m铆 en ese tiempo eran unos chocolates con envoltura de dioses, ven铆an envueltos en un papel brillante, eran sambas y chocolate carr茅, ahora lo s茅, pero en ese entonces eran los chocolates con el empaque m谩s bello que mis ojos hayan visto.
As many of you know my husband was in Venezuela and he was not going to miss the opportunity to bring us some products that we consumed there and here we did not get, so in December and still today, we have been able to enjoy some of them.
When I was a child living here in Ecuador, I remember that my dad used to travel a lot to Venezuela. On one occasion it took him a whole year to return but I only forgave his absence because from his suitcase he took out what for me at that time were chocolates with the wrapping of gods, they came wrapped in shiny paper, they were sambas and chocolate carr茅, now I know, but at that time they were the most beautifully packaged chocolates my eyes had ever seen.
Otro regalo que se ve muy sencillo pero para m铆 tiene gran valor sentimental, son estas semillas de merey, conocido tambi茅n como Anacardium o aqu铆 en Ecuador como semillas de mara帽贸n tostado. Aqu铆 son carismas y aunque vienen en un empaque lindo, no huelen ni sabe igual, les falta el sabor a campo.
Estas semillas me recuerdan a parte de mi infancia y pre adolescencia en Venezuela, cuando iba a trabajar al campo y ve铆a como quemaban estas semillas o pepas, e incluso yo misma participaba de ello y luego com铆a algunas. Dejaban un rico aroma en el ambiente y tienen mucha prote铆nas tanto la fruta como la semilla.
Another gift that looks very simple but for me has great sentimental value, are these cashew seeds, also known as Anacardium or here in Ecuador as toasted cashew seeds. Here they are carismas and although they come in nice packaging, they don't smell or taste the same, they lack the taste of the countryside.
These seeds remind me of part of my childhood and pre-adolescence in Venezuela, when I went to work in the fields and saw how they burned these seeds or seeds, and even I myself participated in it and then ate some of them. They leave a rich aroma in the air and have a lot of protein in both the fruit and the seed.
Hungr铆a:
Una amiga de aqu铆 de Ecuador y Madrina de mi peque帽o hijo Joaqu铆n, sali贸 becada para estudiar en Budapest - Hungr铆a, se fue a mediados de a帽o y no pensabamos volverla a ver hasta dentro de 5 a帽os que volver铆a. Para sorpresa nuestra, el consulado le dio permiso de viajar a casa.
Se acord贸 de nosotros, les trajo pijamas a los ni帽os, medias, para nosotros un rico cacao de Hungr铆a, amargo y oscuro, perfecto para un pastel o torta negra y para el chocolate caliente de santa Claus jeje. Y un recuerdo de Budapest para el refrigerador.
Con solo dos cuchaditas de este rico cacao de Hungr铆a, puedes hacer un rico Brownie 馃構
A friend of mine from Ecuador and godmother of my little son Joaqu铆n, left on a scholarship to study in Budapest - Hungary, she left in the middle of the year and we didn't think we would see her again for another 5 years when she would return. To our surprise, the consulate gave her permission to travel home.
She remembered us, she brought pyjamas for the children, socks, for us a nice dark and bitter cocoa from Hungary, perfect for a black cake and for Santa's hot chocolate hehe. And a souvenir from Budapest for the fridge.
With just two teaspoons of this rich Hungarian cocoa, you can make a tasty brownie 馃構.
Es muy bonito cuando otros a煤n estando lejos se acuerdan de ti, de tu familia y te llevan un detalle, para mostrarte as铆 su cari帽o. Pienso que fuimos bendecidos cada detalle y lo hemos disfrutado.
It is very nice when others, even when they are far away, remember you, your family and bring you a little something to show their affection. I think we were blessed with every detail and we enjoyed it.
