![English Version]

For as long as I can remember, I have had to say goodbye to many people, places, and—more recently—a loved one. Usually, these farewells were due to vacations, moving house, or even migration.

The truth is that, despite how many there have been, each goodbye tends to leave that lump in the throat and a tightness in the chest, just like the first time; for one never truly gets used to saying goodbye. Some farewells, even if only temporary, leave a strange feeling in the soul—as if a part of you is traveling along with the person leaving.

And those who leave forever take everything with them, leaving you with an empty soul—one that ceaselessly searches for what it once held but holds no longer. And when you have children, goodbyes hurt twice as much. Because often, you have to swallow your feelings, put on a brave face, and explain the situation to them—preserving the innocence of the belief that it is merely a "see you later," promising a return filled with gifts.
