‘Tis the season! Yes, it’s that time of year again for luscious and juicy blackberries! 🤩 After I mailed the coffee and ran a few errands, we decided to go to Lynden to get some more zinc supplements and to go to the city park. The thing about Lynden though, is it’s always hot and today was no exception. We started along the pedestrian/bike path and all was well until you ran out of shade, and run out of it, we did! Just at the spot we were turning around, was the thatched roof house.
The thing is-here, we get so much rain during fall and winter, I’m surprised it would even work in this environment. @silvertop wonders if maybe it’s a faux thatched roof. I have to admit, the thatching looks old and weathered which would make me wonder how it handles all that rain. Nonetheless, the house is beautiful and I would love to see the inside of it as well.
Here’s a couple pics taken along the path.
Back to the blackberries……
We decided to head up our road to see what we could collect. We did fairly well, but unfortunately this spring, the county lawnmower man came by and hacked the vines back a bit. A lot of the berries are not reachable because of this. There will be some here soon as they ripen that will provide a bountiful harvest. They’re just not ready yet. So, I suggested we check our yard. Score! Oh my goodness, there’s a ton within east reach. I asked why we ever went up the road lol! 🤣
We picked 3/4 of a gallon size ziplock bag-at least 2-3 pounds or more. This would cost you more that $15 at the store plus they are as organic as you can get!
Yummy!😋
That’s gonna be it for now. Take care and enjoy the week! 🙏🇺🇦
