Hey everybody!
We got up this morning with a host of things that needed doing and not enough time to accomplish it all! So, we did what we could.
First on the agenda, was to go get a truckload of pallets at the local middle school. Then, we were headed to the bank and the post office, only for me to realize I had left the post office box key in my car. The post office will not give you your mail because you forgot your key! So, we headed to the bank and got that done. We went back home and got the key to the post office and headed back into town. Normally, I wouldn’t have cared so much about the mail, but I had ordered some new Merrell hikers, and desperately wanted them prior to the day’s hike!
Once we were home again, I immediately set to unboxing the boots so I could see whether or not it was worthwhile to try to hike in them. I have been having such issues with finding a hiking boot that works for my feet due to problems with the bones in my feet. I am pleased to say that they felt awesome on, so I took the risk for the hike and wore them. They were returnable, but I’m thinking Amazon would not take them back after a hike, so I really had to be sure. The first thing I noticed was no pain! That was a good sign. The second thing I noticed was that I was hiking with much more energy than I had been and my feet were still comfortable. Mike noticed the fact that I had sped up compared to the rate I had been hiking. It’s hard to hike when every step causes pain in your feet, ankles, knees and hips, and that was where I was at for the past 2+ weeks of hiking! I felt more like my old self again. It was nice to be back as this had been being a struggle for me!
My new hikers
I am presuming that this is counted from when I got the fitbit Versa. That was onDecember 23, 2018. That means that I have almost hiked from where I live to Gunnison, Colorado and back! That's a pretty far piece!
The pond at the trailhead had a lightly frozen surface.
Delicately frosted leaves on the trail. This part of it doesn't see the sun in the winter.
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to keep on steppin’! Any exercise is good for you, so keep at it. Have a wonderful day wherever you are!
