GOOGLE ENGLISH VERSION

As a child and young man, art always caught my attention.
More than all visual themes, photography, plastic art.
However, I didn't go too deep.
I limited myself to enjoying, seeing and recognizing the emotions that a work aroused in me.
One of those artists that caught my interest as a child was Andy Warhol.
Especially since he asked me what his art meant.
He tried to understand those paintings that looked like stencils with added colors... in short, he didn't understand where his art was, what was difficult or inimitable about his work.
Of course, I never saw an original work, only what was shown in a photo of a book... because in my childhood there was no internet that allowed me to get closer or investigate better.
A few days ago I came across a documentary "The Andy Warhol Diaries" on Netflix, a revealing series not only of what lies behind the artist, his reasons, origin and motivation... but rather of an entire era of expressions and debauchery which, I believe, has not yet reached other parts of the planet.
In short, far from being critical, rather I put my point of view as an art spectator, this series clarified my doubts about what, at some point, I felt for his work.
Warhol was a cold being. Cold.
So afraid of being hurt, that he spent a long time not showing his emotions.
He used photographic techniques, serigraphy and painting... what at first looked like a photo to me was actually on a canvas, which went through a long production process.
On the other hand, there is the issue of handling his sexuality, something excessively dark and morbid, it seemed to me the search for him... more than anything, I feel that he did not accept himself.
I won't give you spoilers because I haven't finished watching the series yet.
I simply wanted to recommend it discreetly if you are impressed by certain sexual demonstrations, which, although subtle, are impressive.
I made this image in 2015... a year in which I finally freed myself from my own ties, I was myself, I accepted myself, I recognized myself and I allowed myself to be accompanied by those who discovered me, accepted me and walked with me.
Today I know why I chose to do this work in the Warhol way. In 2015 I didn't know, it just seemed pretty to me.
Today I know what it communicates and what it means.
This is the universality of art that never ends.
That today, so many years after the creation of pop art by Wahrol,
I discovered why I sought to express myself with a self-portrait full of colors and in his style...
it is because his creative genius, more than a work of art, opened an expressive channel for those like him and me who did not know how to say it.
I hope you watch the series and tell me what you thought.
Thank you for reading this far!
