Last week, I was in São Paulo, and one of the first things I did was visit Avenida Paulista with my friend Diego, who has been living in the city for approximately 15 years. Even though we live far apart, we still keep in touch, and sometimes, when he comes to my city to visit his parents, we take the opportunity to meet. This time, he made a point of meeting me and taking me to visit some of São Paulo’s main tourist attractions.
After leaving the Consolação Cemetery, we went straight to Avenida Paulista. Near the beginning of the avenue, we climbed the stairs of a building that offers a great view of a large part of Paulista Avenue. Since our visit was on a Sunday, we had the opportunity to enjoy the avenue without vehicle traffic. On Sundays and public holidays, Avenida Paulista is closed to cars, allowing pedestrians, cyclists, and various attractions to take over the avenue.
As soon as we arrived, I took a photo with Monica, the famous character from Monica’s Gang, who was there. After that, we went up the building, where I also took a photo with my friend 
We spent most of the morning walking along Avenida Paulista, exploring different places and attractions. The avenue was very lively, with street performers, presentations, and people enjoying various activities. It was a great way to start my visit to São Paulo and, most importantly, to enjoy the city in the company of an old friend.
Na semana passada, estive em São Paulo e uma das primeiras coisas que fiz foi conhecer a Avenida Paulista com meu amigo Diego, que mora na cidade há aproximadamente 15 anos. Mesmo com a distância, continuamos mantendo contato e, às vezes, quando ele vem à minha cidade para visitar os pais, aproveitamos para nos encontrar. Dessa vez, ele fez questão de me encontrar e me levar para conhecer alguns dos principais pontos turísticos de São Paulo.
Depois de sairmos do Cemitério da Consolação, fomos direto para a Avenida Paulista. Logo no início da avenida, subimos as escadas de um prédio que possui uma vista privilegiada de boa parte da Paulista. Como nosso passeio aconteceu em um domingo, tivemos a oportunidade de aproveitar a avenida sem o trânsito de veículos. Aos domingos e feriados, a Avenida Paulista é fechada para os carros, ficando aberta para pedestres, ciclistas e diversas atrações.
Assim que chegamos, aproveitei para tirar uma foto com a Mônica, personagem da Turma da Mônica, que estava por lá. Depois, subimos no prédio e tirei uma foto com meu amigo
Passamos grande parte da manhã caminhando pela Avenida Paulista, conhecendo diferentes lugares e atrações. A avenida estava bastante movimentada, com artistas, apresentações e pessoas realizando diversas atividades. Foi uma ótima maneira de começar minha visita a São Paulo e, principalmente, de aproveitar a cidade na companhia de um velho amigo.
