Today, when I got home, I remembered the cocoa beans that were still drying in the sun. Well, it was finally time to put them in the oven for roasting, an important step that also helps loosen and remove the shells. I left the cocoa beans in the oven for about 30 minutes. After that, one of the most time-consuming parts of the whole process began: removing the shell from each bean, one by one.
I was only able to remove the shells from part of the beans because I did not have much time to continue. Then, I put the shelled beans into the food processor. After processing them for some time, the beans turned into 100% pure cocoa powder. Now, after all these steps, I will see if I can find some time tomorrow to make the long-awaited chocolate bar.
Making chocolate takes a lot of work! Each step requires time and patience, but it has been very interesting to follow this whole transformation, from the fermented cocoa bean to the final chocolate. I hope you are enjoying this series! 😊
