It already smells like summer. It starts to get hot and at this time we used to think about trips, plans and changes of scenery. The last year has been difficult for all this, it is true, but perhaps there are some possible options, because in reality there are many ways to travel and enjoy. Good weather and vacation days inspire us to move, go out and do other things.
I love to travel, for everything that is observed around, for what is enjoyed and for what is learned. The good thing is that there are different ways and paths to do it. I have always liked going by plane, the atmosphere of airports with varied people running from here to there, the sensation of taking off, and thus almost teleporting to other places. Many times we land in places, distant or not, different from home, but isn't that what we want? A change? But why not do the same thing in a different way? Maybe this is a good year. Traveling by car can also have its magic, I've done it before, and now might be a good time to rediscover the pleasure of traveling by road...

On a “road trip” you can see what you cannot see from the plane, we do not see things in small from above but from the front and in real size. You can enjoy the landscape, inspiring panoramas, breathe fresh air in spontaneous stops and enjoy the sun on your face. You can own your time, without waiting or boarding, decide your destination in a second, changing departures, simply because you are hungry or you like the name of that place.
Trips are made up of small moments and adventures, and what better than living them intensely, they will remain in our memory without the need to buy postcards. During our tour we can stop whenever we want, in various places, cities or towns and also see or meet other people, living their lives there.
So speaking of details, depending on where we are, for example we can eat a delicious bruschetta in a cozy Tuscan corner; enjoy a good wine in a charming place on the blue coast; try something spicy in a Mexican park of large exotic plants; walk through the immense sunflower fields of the Castilian plateau or through narrow and colorful Indian streets; count the number of cows on the Belgian plains; smell the lush German forests; cross centenary Galician bridges or impressive Portuguese bridges; look at the brilliant sea of the Turkish coast or the white immensity of the snow of the Russian landscapes. Also be amazed when passing through ancient Croatian villages embedded in the mountains; marvel at the exuberant greenery of the tortuous routes between Brazilian cities; getting lost in Czech villages under heavy rain or being amazed by a buffalo and a moose that walk around your car in one of the American national parks, etc… Infinite possibilities.
There are many prints, many things to see and many ways. The important thing is that we will remember everything more, because it is not tourism, it is simply traveling. We will associate moments and places with songs on the radio, and of course, we will never forget the company. Yes, perhaps the best thing is the company, trusting the driver, trusting the one who doesn't fall asleep and read the guide or touch the GPS, or who looks at the posters or signs and reads all the strange names in any language. Start conversations and then let the conversations start themselves. We may even discover something new from those people we already know.
The contagious laughter, the musical playbacks that we invent, the sounds of the birds or those bees that enter the car, trying to take photos through the window or stopping at a gas station after counting the kilometers to run to the bathroom, buy water and cookies, or ask the local old man, because you are sure that he is the one who knows the most. Lives and experiences on four wheels, a few days that we take advantage of to let ourselves go and be free travelers, with relaxation and without stressful or corseted schedules, still with enough gasoline! And maybe we can't even find an Internet connection...
On these routes or road trips, we can see and experience many things in a short time, not only what the guides or hotels suggest, but also the very reality of where we are, in the present. In short, the essence of what we want to discover, what we are looking for or what we find by surprise. Because traveling is not the destination we arrive at, it is the journey itself, it is our path.

Our travel destination is never a place,
but a new way of seeing things.
