Hey Actifiters!
It was another beautiful day in the rogue valley. Sunny and continuing to cool down from earlier in the week. I do. Love the sunshine here, it's so much drier here than growing up in Portland. And I really appreciate the weather.
Year-End related activities at work are still keeping me quite busy. I really felt like I needed to get some steps in though, so I took an afternoon break to walk a bit around the duck ponds.
My day has been a little broken up between a doctor's appointment this morning and running out to grab some lunch midday.
I had some recent blood work which showed some anomalies and met with my doctor today to sort that out. I have hereditary hemochromatosis. In layman's terms. That means I have too much iron in my blood. I've been thinking of quite a few funny things about that - you could call me. Iron Man is one of them LOL
I'm really grateful though, because we're catching this early and of all the conditions out there it's one, that's pretty easy to treat. Basically I just need a vampire as a friend LOL
Actually the treatment is blood donation, so I signed up for my first ever blood donation this Saturday. It's interesting to think. Looking forward at the prospect of having to donate blood on a regular basis to keep my condition in check. Overall, I think it'll be a really good thing. It's just kind of odd I guess to wrap my head around. And interesting to think that the cure to my condition is something that will help somebody else.
