ALONE
Alone with time
I look inside
the person others see
criticism penetrates walls
to unintended ears
yet none
are strong enough
to ask the truth
They choose to hate
because they do not know
but none are eager to learn
they cannot handle
the truth
Sometimes it is easier to believe
what you want to hear
whether to hate someone
makes it easier not to love them
or to love someone hurts too much
you only fear the loss of that
which you sacrifice to attain
It is dangerous when
feelings control emotions
especially when actions speak
louder than words
knowing when
to open and close
your heart
is a talent few gain
through intense pain
when learning from a mistake
is the farthest
thing
from their mind
No one can control
their feelings
everyone makes
mistakes
we are all slaves
to emotion
we can only wait
for scars to heal
and begin again
hoping not to hurt ourselves
and others
while secretly
repressing
the thought we will
Human nature
never loses a battle
those who refuse
to accept this
live
alone
