So a customer of mine reported a faulty laptop. Very strange behaviour; it looked like a 1980s disco with lights flashing all over the place even when the battery was disconnected and no power supply plugged in. Fortunately for me and the customer, it was still under warranty, so I shipped it back to the supplier.
Supplier: "Hi Pete, your laptop went out last night. We found out what was wrong with it and just swapped out the motherboard."
Me: "What was wrong with it?"
Supplier: "The memory slot had gone faulty. Take the memory stick out of the one slot, and the laptop worked fine."
Me: "Oh? Can you flash the firmware, d'you suppose?"
Supplier: "Na, I sold it to some old geezer."
Me: "What!?"
Supplier: "He'll never know; 16GB is more than he'll ever need."
Me: "And what if his smart alec son turns up and offers to upgrade his dad to 32GB?"
Supplier: "It'll be out of warranty by then."
Me: "That's terrible! And I thought I was bad."
🤣🤣🤣🤣
