Hi all. I'm a 32-year-old software developer who was born in Brooklyn, grew up in Boulder, CO, and now lives in St. Louis. I'm married with a little 6 month old boy.
I got into software development a bit later in life, and finished my Master's at age 30. I'm a huge proponent of the field, especially for people who are looking to switch mid-career. My undergrad was in English - I like poetry, mainly Plath, as well as Russian literature. Chekhov is my favorite; I think I could read "Oysters" over and over for a long time.
I have a really broad set of interests: I used to snowboard and took marital arts for 4 years (I was on the green-brown-stripe belt test, but quit right before). I studied Talmud and related studies full time for about 7 years.
I am also extremely into fantasy baseball. Last year was my first year playing, and I got 2nd place in both a competitive, paid roto and head-to-head league. This year I bombed my h2h league (I traded away Jose Ramirez and Alex Wood early in the season for Rougned Odor and Sean Manaea - if you know fantasy baseball, you will get how this killed my team). But I won my roto league (despite picking Marte 2nd round and Story 3rd)!
I only recently started learning about the crypto and blockchain space, and I'm totally fascinated by it. I read through most of Mastering Bitcoin and plan to read it several more times. I think Steem is very intriguing, but I am honestly a bit skeptical of the implementation. We'll see what happens!
I also was only recently diagnosed with ADD and the treatment has transformed my life. I'm very interested in mental health in general and promoting awareness of ADD in particular.
Anyway, I plan to write about all of my interests here and see what happens. Thanks for reading :)
