Greetings, friends from Hive and this Rising Star community! I’m happy to be back with you to share another drawing based on one of Rising Star's lovely cards. This time, we have something special: a "3rd Birthday" seasonal card—specifically, the S58 3rd Birthday Mic. As you can see, this card features a cute pink microphone. This is the first card of this type I’ve painted, and I hope to paint a few more birthday-themed ones in the coming days. If you’d like to see those drawings, keep an eye on my blog. So, let me show you how I created this drawing. To start, I followed my usual routine of sketching the card's frame; it turned out like this:
Next, I drew the microphone handle; as you can see, it has the classic cylindrical shape. After the handle, I drew the top section—the part where a singer would belt out "Happy Birthday" or a song, haha. I also sketched the cable connector area at the bottom.
With that done, I could move on to adding some extra details. As you’ll see in the next step, I added the internal divisions of the microphone. These lines separate the microphone into different zones, adding detail and making it look nicer. Plus, as I’ve mentioned before, this helps me paint section by section since the areas are clearly defined—which is why I do it before filling in the color.
Now for the painting phase. You’ll notice I used a wide palette of pinks and blues, among other minor colors, though those were the main ones. On the microphone body, I used various shades of pink to simulate highlights and shadows, giving it a bit more volume; I also added some shading around the microphone itself. You can see the rest of the details in the photos.
And finally, here is the finished result: I added the names of the game and the card, and included cake and party emojis to make it look more like the original card. What do you think? I look forward to reading your comments. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful day.
