Blessings, everyone! Today I'm going to show you my drawing inspired by the R549 PV200 card. It's a rare microphone with a very nice shape. I'm guessing that its shape makes me think it's a studio microphone, the kind professional singers use when recording. I really like the card's background with its navy blue colors and the equalization effects behind it—a very nice design.
I'll be using that same navy blue for the background of the drawing. You've already seen a preview on the cover, but now I'm going to show you step by step how I made this drawing. To begin, I drew the frame. This is the largest piece in the drawing and the one that separates the inner background from the outer one. It also serves as the canvas.
Next, I drew the center of the microphone. It has a slightly cylindrical shape, which I really like; it's different from the usual. I assume this microphone isn't handheld; it's meant to be placed on a stand or a special tripod, like the ones we see in many YouTube videos. I think this model is similar to many I've seen in gaming videos. After drawing the cylindrical shape, I drew the ball on top of it. That's what would pick up the voice.
In the next step, I drew several internal divisions and the area for connecting the cable at the bottom. With that, the sketch is ready for painting.
For the painting, I started by painting the outer background, then the frame, the inner background, and finally the microphone itself. Thanks to the eyedropper tool in Adobe Illustrator, I was able to get an exact color palette, just like the one in the example chart I'm using. See how it turned out.
And to finish up for today, I'm going to show you the final result. Here I've added the name of the game that serves as the finished drawing stamp, and the name of the card in the name bar. And with that, I'll say goodbye for today. See you in the next drawing.
