Greetings, friends! First of all, I wish everyone many blessings and good health on this new day, as those are the most important things. Today, I am pleased to present a new drawing I created based on another lovely card from the game Rising Star. In this case, it is an Epic card: the E331 Croatian Lyra. As you can see, it is a medieval instrument—the card itself states this in the text at the bottom. It is an ancient violin, likely a precursor to the violins we have today. Judging by the game's artwork, it appears to originate from Croatia.

On the card, you can see that this Lyra has a bow, just like a violin. However, I chose not to include the bow in my drawing so I could focus entirely on the Lyra itself, the main instrument. I’m sure you’re eager to see how I created the drawing. You’ve already seen a preview on the cover image, so now I’ll walk you through the entire process from start to finish. To begin, I drew the standard frame I always start with. It turned out like this:

Once the frame was ready, I moved on to sketching the Lyra's full outline. It features a beautiful trident-like shape at the top and an oval body that tapers downward. It reminds me of various African instruments made from gourds. Next, I drew a string anchor at one of the tips and added an edge detail to create depth and prevent the drawing from looking too flat.

With the sketch complete, I was ready to start painting. I used a fairly varied color palette for this drawing. All the colors I used appear on the original card, though I applied them differently to give the drawing a unique look. For instance, I used orange for the outer background and a deep purple for the frame; the contrast creates a beautiful effect. As for the inner background, I used a range of blue tones. The lyre itself is painted in various shades of brown with a few subtle touches of black. Once the painting was done, I added the strings and the soundbox openings. I think it turned out well. What do you all think?

To wrap up this drawing, here is one last photo showing the final result; I hope you liked it. See you tomorrow with a new drawing.
