A lovely morning, isn't it? Today, I’m going to show you a new drawing I’ve created, inspired—as always—by the game Rising Star. Specifically, this piece is based on the Epic card E279 Nuvo Flute. As you can see, it features a beautiful silver flute with a classic, striking design. In this post, I’ll walk you through the entire process, from the initial sketch to the final result. Let’s get started! First, I drew the inner frame of the card—the border that houses the illustration, just like on the actual card. The frame consists of two rectangles, creating both an outer and an inner background.

With the frame ready, I moved on to the body of the flute. It has a fairly minimalist design, featuring straight sides and rounded corners. I’ll add details like the keys and other elements later on, so keep reading to see how that comes together!

Next, I added some visual details to make the piece more engaging—for instance, the mouthpiece where air is blown into the instrument, as well as decorative accents that divide the flute into sections.

Now for the fun part: coloring! I filled the outer background with purple and painted the frame in pink; the contrast is excellent, which is why I thought it would be perfect for this drawing. I then colored the inner background using various shades of blue, matching the original card, and rendered the flute itself in shades of gray and black. Once the flute was colored, I added the keys and the final decorative elements. Take a look at the result!

And finally, here is the finished drawing. I look forward to hearing your thoughts—I hope you enjoy it! See you in the next post.
