Hello, friends especially foodies!

Last Friday, I accompanied mom to the hospital because she needed to take the routine monthly check up for her blood glucose and she needed to fast for 10-12 hours and then later she needed to have breakfast before the hospital checked her 2 hours post eating blood glucose. Lucky for us not far from the hospital there was a popular hawkers food stall.

THE OUTLOOK OF THE STALL

Looked modest in front of the mini market, here how the stall looked like..

It had the traditional look of the cart where the seller usually sold their hawkers food. I know you could guess what we had from this cart… couldn’t you?

THE DINING AREA

We came there at around 8 am something but looked at those people there

We even needed to wait at the chairs first before could get our table behind. Even the place so modest many people came there for breakfast, and we also saw some bought it for the takeaway.

THE MENU

Here they only served one kind menu but it was popular, it was chicken soto lamongan. Lamongan is a city in East Java, where this dish came from.

THE FOOD & THE OUTLOOK

Here were the food we had for the breakfast

I ordered their chicken soto, while mom asked the seller to change hers into egg soto….
Which means, she didn’t eat any chicken but only the boiled chicken eggs.

THE TASTE & THE FLAVOUR

Now let me share to you about the taste and flavour…

SOTO LAMONGAN

This soto served with special authentic powder called koya, it made from garlic and tasted savory. The soup tasted a bit thicky by this special ingredient. The soto contained chicken and egg with some vegetables like cabbage and also beansprouts (but I didn’t want any beansprouts, and it would be as what we requested). The soto tasted savory and tasty. Have you tried soto lamongan?

THE PRICE

After finished our breakfast mom paid, it was 26K IDR for two bowls of soto (with rice inside) or just around 1.8 USD. So affordable, right?
