Hello, friends especially foodies!

Have you ever passed a restaurant which is always full at dine time? If yes, this also happened here in my city, if the restaurant is popular then you need to be patient to enter and both mom and I didn’t want to eat in too crowded restaurant, so we couldn’t try this phenomenal hot pot until last Saturday… We passed the restaurant at 4 pm something, amazed by they didn’t have too long like dragon of their usually line up customers at its’ front………… Then we quickly decided to have an early dinner (the steaks for our late lunch weren’t make us full yet).

Located on the LG floor of West Mall, Grand Indonesia Shopping Center, here was how the restaurant looked from the outside.

You would also find a waiter or waitress there, offered you their menu and also managed the line up customers. The menu on his hands only showed the four kind of broth they offered for their hot pot. Mostly the broth they sold were spicy, but you could choose the level of the spiciness too. They had signature mala tang, collagen bone broth, Sichuan hot & spicy, plus mala ban for the choices. You could also see that they sold all in 30K IDR every 100 grams of their food (it actually was around 1.9 USD), and it means they would weigh your food, not a common thing you would find in a restaurant!

Inside the big instruction hung, it showed you needed to choose your ingredients for the hot pot, then weigh (minimum 250 grams of ingredients required, it means minimum payment they received for a bowl was 75K IDR (around 4.75 USD), select our soup broth and spiciness level and then paid (before dine in).

The first thing they offered us as ingredients were beef or chicken, mom put some of the beef slices with tong to the big pan they give us to put the ingredients.

Then the large chilled open fridge showed their collection of vegetables to pick. They had from spinach, ginseng, broccoli, Chinese lettuce, pakcoy and some others. They also had fishcake, enoki and some kind of mushrooms there too. Mom also added to our pan some kind of vegetables and also mushroom.

There they also had some kind of fresh seafood too like fish, clams, squid, even shrimps. To accompany the ingredients they also had noodles, our favorite wheat vermicelli, green flat noodle and some others.

After picked this and that, time to weigh, wow it was more than 400 grams!

We picked the broth soup we wanted in the cashier, for the first time we asked for their non spicy broth because we would like to try the pure flavour of their non spicy soup one. Then we also needed to pay in the cashier..

It was 157,600 IDR or around 10.72 USD for our hotpot, plus a bottle of mineral water. How do you think of this price?

We thought it was quite pricey because we needed to do self service as we do in the food court there. They gave us a device which would beep and also rang once they finished preparing our food. Luckily their serving area was next to our table so that I could easily took our food once it was finished prepared.

Here how our early dinner looked

Their hot pot bowl was sooo big that we needed to ask other two small bowls to eat!

Now how about the flavour???

Their soup had special not clear color, a thick chicken broth they used there I could taste and it had tasty savory flavour. They also put on the fried corn and coriander leaves. We loved the coriander leaves because it made a nice smell for every dish.

For the composition of the hot pot depended on your choice. Like us we chose the slice beef which had soft texture, the wheat vermicelli in its’ ideal softness, broccoli, mushroom, savory soft chewy fish cake, tofu (mom loved it much, it had savory flavour), and some other veggies.

Their soup was so tasty that we would like to come back for trying their choices of spicy soups too!

Oh yes before I forget, although the place was quite comfy but you couldn’t stay long there because they would give you some time limit to eat there…

There they also had not large but comfortable, clean and neat dining area.

We sat beside their serving desk and it was located at a corner of the restaurant.

We would like to come back to this phenomenal (they said number one hot pot in Melbourne) restaurant again trying their spicy soups, do you also want to try them all???
