Hello, friends especially foodies!
On one fine Saturday, I met with my friend in the shopping center. Don’t know what to do except chit and chat then we decided to have our lunch in one of popular brand Indonesian restaurant named Dapur Solo. If it is translated it would be Solo Kitchen, for your information Solo is a city in Central Java.
From the outside you could see that this restaurant had a quite wide dining area.
They had some new menu on their banners outside the restaurant. For a portion of snack and coffee, it was just 25K IDR or not even 2 USD. They had sego soun, which mean glass noodle rice because they put some fried glass noodle to their some kind of new rice packages.
We entered and after we were sitting there, many customers came in too so it was a bit crowded.
But overall the dining area was comfortable, clean and neat of course.
Some of the menus that this restaurant had were Madiun Pecel Rice, Semarang Chicken Rice – if Singapore had the popular chicken rice, one of our city in Central Java, named Semarang, also had it own popular authentic Chicken Rice, and Sunda Timbel Rice.
They also had Madura Beef satay and Madura Chicken satay.
They sold oxtail soup, rib soup, chicken soto, and Betawi soto.
Also rawon (black beef soup), pindang bandeng, Cirebon empal gentong, Asem-Asem Iga (Sour soup rib), and Chicken Garang Asem.
They had some authentic side dishes too like vegetable urap, pecel, fried chicken, fried empal, and bacem tempeh .
After had ordered we had to wait around 15-20 minutes to get our main dishes and my beverage to be ready. But not a long time, my friend also got her drink.
This is it, Semarang Chicken Rice!
Semarang Chicken rice contained
krecek (cow’s skin) which had tasty sweet, savory and spicy flavour;
stirred chayote which had tasty sweet, a bit savory and spicy flavour;
stirred opor chicken which had light savory and sweet flavour;
bacem tempeh which had sweet flavour
and pindang egg which had natural egg flavour.
My friend had their Madiun Pecel Rice..
And she was quite satisfied with her pecel rice.
For the beverage, I chose Squeezed orange iced. It had fresh flavour of sour and sweet orange flavour. Guess what my friend had?
My friend ordered the 25K snacks and coffee, and I tried the vegetable fritters.
It was crunchy and soft with savory flavour. Unfortunately it was greasy in oil.
I invite you to come to this restaurant if you want to try many kind of Indonesian dishes!
