Hello, friends especially needleworkers!
Today i would like to share the project I made yesterday, it was so cute that I can’t hold not to see it (I put it right on my desk so I could look at it all the time).. actually I got the idea to make this cute mouse on cheese pin cushion several weeks ago but I hadn’t have much time until yesterday I finally could make one of my dream comes true. Why don’t you just check it out of how I made it?!
Project Time: approximately 7-8 hours
Difficulty: Quite difficult for me
Skills Needed:
- French knot
- Whipped stitch
- Blanket stitch
- Running stitch
Materials & things needed:
- A circle object around 8 cm diameter
- Pencil
- Paper and Craft scissors (craft scissors used for small details objects)
- Felt fabrics in bright yellow, yellow, grey, soft pink and black
- Sewing needle
- Embroidery floss
- Covered wired
- Fiber Filling (I used dacron)
How to make it:
1ST
I copied the circle on the bright yellow fabric. I made ¾ of it like below. It looked like a Mr. Pacman head for me. I made two of it then cut them off.
2ND
Then, I cut three rectangles with the width of the first ¾ circle I made. The height of them were around 3-4 cm. Cut them off then I made the small circles with the yellow fabric. This only to visualize the pattern of cheese I would like to make.
3RD
I cut the two small rectangles with the same circles as I made with the yellow ones. So they had some small holes. Then I cut the yellow rectangles with the same size as two small rectangles I made first. Also I cut them.
4TH
After the parts finished, I drew the little mouse on the grey fabrics. Made two of same thing, cut them off. I also prepared the pink long tail with the soft pink fabric.
5TH
I also cut the pink ears and also the grey ears. Prepare the small black fabric for the nose. Then I did the french knot for both mouse body parts. I also whipped stitch the small nose to the body.
6TH
I then running stitch the grey ears to the body and also the pink with the whipped stitch.
7TH
Next I blanket stitch the tail and out the wire in it. Then I trimmed some unused part of it.
8TH
I also made the whiskers with the white floss and it would be an easy peasy work, just made a knot then cut (left some long part) like below. Then I sew around the mouse with the blanket stitch, slipped the tail on the back.
9TH
Then join the mouse with the ¾ yellow circle with the running stitch and hide it inside the mouse body. Then close the upper part of the mouse body and before it was fully closed, I put on some fiber filling to it. Then I closed it with the blanket stitch again. After that I joined the largest rectangle to the ¾ circle with the mouse on the top. This also using the blanket stitch.
10TH
Next I after it finished, I joined the 4 rectangles (2 bright yellow with the holes and 2 other yellow rectangles) with the whipped stitch.
11TH
After that, joined it to the ¾ circle with the mouse on the top with the blanket stitch then blanket stitch the other ¾ circle. Before it closed I also put the dacron inside it.

VOILA, now this super cute pin cushion is ready to use. Even the mouse is cuter than jerry mouse.
How do you think of it?
