Nothing compare to Foodie love for Food!
Hello, friends especially foodies!
Have you ever missed a kind of dish, even craved it? I am sure the answer is yes, then you must know what we felt about pasta last Saturday. Craved for pasta (especially mom, she missed Spaghetti Bolognaise a lot), we came to a branch of one of popular over decades restaurant brand which sold pasta besides pizza last Saturday. Unfortunately, when we came we needed to find other way to enter because we came 15 minutes earlier than the plaza opening hour so they hadn’t opened their main lobby yet. It took us walking around the plaza to find the lobby which was opened that time.
And after we finally could reach the restaurant it was around 11 am.
The restaurant was located on 1st floor Gajah Mada Plaza, this plaza is one of the old plaza in my city which already operated since 1980. The restaurant is a branch of an American famous franchise brand, PIZZA HUT. One of their oldest branch in my city has opened since 1984. PIZZA HUT had many branches over cities in my country. At this branch they put two large board to show their some menus on promotion. On the left they showed only 50K IDR or just around 3,4 USD for their 6 slices regular Meat Lovers pizza for takeaway and delivery, plus on the other side they showed only for dine in package, where you could get a main dish of pan pizza or some choices of pasta plus drink for only 35K IDR or just around 2.4 USD. I think these prices were cheap these days.
We were the lucky customer number one, inside they had a quite large dining area with many soft sofas. A waitress took mom to one of their table with two sofas. The ambience there was cozy with dimmed light plus soft chairs or even sofas. For the furnish, they used wood material with the blush of green for sofas, crème for the chairs’ seats and also reddish orange mural wall. One thing to describe it was a nice place to dine in. The negative thing was the air conditioner was not too cool because this plaza was still under renovation.. Well ok that’s fine, since this plaza was the nearest from our place too.
On the table, you could see they showed the kids meal or even their new heart shaped pizzas which was launched on February. While for their menu, they only had a book of menu since the pandemic. On the first page you could see that they offered salad and soup, which usually before pandemic we could take by ourselves. The choices of ingredients they used in their salad were also limited now, not as many as before the pandemic.
Now on one of the restaurant’s corner you could see that the salad bar was closed and we would never know when would it be back to normal so we could take the soup and salad by ourselves again.
Back to the menu, although they reduced the pages after the pandemic but they still had some of their favorite menus there. For the APPETIZER they had New Orlean Chicken Wings, Chicken Royale, Garlic Bread, Baked Chicken Chunks, potato wedges, deluxe chicken or beef bruschetta, garlic cheese bread, choco puff, cheese rolls and puff pastry mushroom cream soup.
For the MAIN DISH, Of course they had kind of PIZZA there, many choices of topping like American favourite, Meat lovers, Frankfruter BBQ, Super Supreme, Veggie Garden, Cheese Lovers, Pepperoni and tuna melt. You could also asked it to be splitza (mixture of two kind of toppings), or with some choices of crusts.
They also still had PASTA and RICE. They sold pasta with the choice of creamy beef/chicken classic fettuccine, beef spaghetti (in bolognaise sauce, tuna aglio olio, oriental chicken spaghetti, beef lasagna, and cheese-beef fusilli. While for the rice they only had oriental chicken and also black pepper chicken.
They also sold juice, soft drinks and some cold special drinks or even ice cream. At the back of their menu they also showed the choices of the dine in 35K packages they had. In this package you could choose some main dishes like pan pizza in beef BBQ or honey mustard chicken… rice with chicken omelette and chicken delight choice or you could also try their Italian style chicken fettuccine (woah it was a new one) or even mac and cheese macaroni. For the drink choices they had lemon tea, orange juice or three kind of soft drink. Plus if you added 10K more, you could get mushroom soup, bread n cheese or garlic bread. I think this price was really affordable!
While mom had her choice from home, I would like to try pasta flavour that I never tried before. So mom ordered BEEF SPAGHETTI, while me I tried their dine in package with the choice of the main dish, ITALIAN STYLE CHICKEN FETUCCINNE with ORANGE JUICE plus I added the BREAD N CHEESE too. Here was how our brunch looked
We really enjoyed our brunch there.. aren’t those food look all tasty?
Served warm, their BEEF SPAGHETTI had the a perfect flavour of sour, savory and sweet at the same time.
You could smell and feel the taste of the authentic spices they used to cook it. The perfect cooked spaghetti with the beef toppings which was so tasty and also grated cheese on the top. Perfect for a pasta lover, this menu also came with long garlic bread. Al dente, and you should try it when you come to this restaurant.
Served hot, even the waitress asked me to please be careful with my menu.. ITALIAN STYLE CHICKEN FETTUCCINE made with authentic Italian spices ingredients.
It had creamy texture from the cream it cooked with, it only had few of smoked chicken and also paprika as the topping. The taste of it was savory and a bit spicy at the same time because it also had black pepper as their cooking ingredient. I also loved the fact that they cooked the fettuccine perfectly, not less and also not overcooked. I fell in love with this menu..
Don’t forget I also had the side dish, BREAD N CHEESE.
It actually roast small toast with dried parsley on its top. The original flavour of the bread was sweet with soft texture and you should dip it in the cheese sauce it served with so it would had the savory cheesy and sweet flavour at the same time.
In my dine in package, I also still got a drink, I chose ORANGE JUICE.
It had sweet sour flavour and it served chilled. What a fresh drink after a perfect brunch we had!
When we were enjoying our brunch there, at our back, some children came to join the pizza maker class which also being held there… And look, some other customers came there to have brunch and lunch there too.
We were so lucky when we paid, some e-payment offered cashback that day.. For the original price of 102K IDR for the total of our brunch price, we got 25K IDR point cashback so our brunch was only 77K IDR or just around 5.2 USD. It was wow, I always love price reduction, really!
