Hello, friends especially foodies!
Last Sunday Mom and I went to one of the nearest old shopping center which was still under renovation.. But it really didn’t disturb their tenants activities, cause only some areas which were under renovation, closed, and also they closed a bit early, an hour before others. In that shopping center, we went to the one of our most favorite place to have beef. Here in this article I tried to share to you all, I will try my best so you experience it yourselves, so here we go..
THE OUTLOOK OF THE RESTAURANT
Looked modest, this restaurant had some banners to show their menus outside the restaurant.
THE DINING AREA INSIDE
They had a quite large dining area, with most furnitures made from wood. On some walls they showed of some of their menus. With the bricks wall and those wooden furnish plus grey stone floor, I could assume that they had rustic interior there.
The dining area was quite cozy and not crowded at the time we had the lunch there. My opinion they made the interior almost all in wooden, like the chairs tables, and others, don’t go to the back, where they had long wood chairs cause one we went there it was a bit stinky, yes I thought they needed to do some more than cleaning up for this part. We chose the chairs in the middle where no bad odor at all. My nose is sensitive so I could smell very well even with the face mask I wear.
THE MENU
For the main dishes, this restaurant served mostly Indonesian Menus, with short ribs as their specialization. They cooked the ribs with soup, another Indonesian recipes like garang asem and others. They also fried or even roasted it. Beside ribs there they also had another beef, cooked in Indonesian traditional (called empal), meatballs, chicken soto, satay, and even seafood.. They also had vegetables dishes, even packages..
THE FOOD & THE OUTLOOK
After had ordered, we needed to wait for around 15 minutes to get our food delivered. Here how they looked
It actually were their authentic short ribs soup and empal penyet (smashed traditional cooked beef). By the way, the short beef ribs soup smelled so good!
THE TASTE & THE FLAVOUR
Now we are in the most important part of my foodie experience, the taste and the flavour, this time like usually I would like to be honest with you all
First their
SHORT RIBS SOUP
This one actually had been our favorite menu from that restaurant.. Served hot it contained short ribs and also some sliced carrots. The meat on the ribs were soft, great, and also savory. But this time the soup was too savory.. the slice carrots were also too soft. We could still enjoy the tasty ribs but that time unfortunately we couldn’t finish their too salty soup. But their ribs were still delicious and must try!
Then we also had their
SMASHED EMPAL
Empal is traditionally cooked beef, it fried. It also served with spicy sambal which we already ordered to be separated.. The beef had savory and a bit sweet flavour but it was a bit hard to bite, it might cause they used less quality of beef, then they didn’t smashed it well plus they fried it in too big fire in the stove. Yes, some reasons to get this empal.. Also, their empal was a bit smaller that day. The spicy sambal they gave also had weird taste, I didn’t know why we tasted it like contained peanut but supposed to be not like this. With that small portion, a bit hard to bite texture and weird sambal, I don’t recommend this menu for you all to try..
THE PRICE
After had had the lunch, mom asked for the bill, the senior waitress came (now she was a supervisor, while two other staffs were new), mom asked about the too savory ribs soup, she would like to check it, cause she said it might be because they made it warm again and again, because they had less of customers recently (so sad, it caused by the omicron corona virus spread in my country). Our lunch costed 138,600 IDR or around 9.7 USD for those two main dishes and two portions of rice. How do you think of the price?
Come if you wanna try tasty ribs!
Thanks for reading my article, hope you enjoy it and stay tune for more CRAFT things from me!
