Writing between Stories and Letters: El sueño de Mary// Mary's dream

Hello, community, for the new @writingclub initiative, I have chosen the writer Mary Shelley, who said that her novel, The Modern Prometheus, better known as Frankenstein, was the product of a dream she had, a fact that inspired me to make this story, I hope you enjoy it.
Precipitously, Mary sat up, and a feeling of anguish overwhelmed her heart, she was panting profusely that dream had reappeared, or rather, the nightmare, which does not let her sleep, its recurrence was beginning to worry her, this was the sixth time she had it, she was afraid to fall asleep, she did not want to be assaulted by those disturbing images, She could not get them out of her head, that is why she had stopped reading her favorite books on philosophy, natural sciences, and man, especially those that explained the experiments that were done to delay death because she did not want to get pictures that would incite her to create terrifying scenes while she was sleeping.
In her desperate search to dissipate the teachings obtained from those books, she has devoted herself to reading historical or romantic novels, her father disliked this change, often criticizing her new literary preferences, which in his opinion, are banal, Mary has been afraid to tell him about her dreams, not wanting him to consider her a lunatic or something similar, since he is prejudiced with certain subjects, especially about the dreamy and the human psyche.
The young woman is afraid to close her eyes again, so she decides to get out of bed to calm down, she goes from one end of the room to the other, she counts the numbers upside down, these actions made her breathing slow down, her heartbeat slow down and her mind calm down, so she can think more clearly, she returns to her bed, with no intention of lying down, she just wanted to reflect on the dreamlike images that have been playing repeatedly while she sleeps.
The first rays of sunlight found Mary sitting at her desk, painstakingly recounting the scenes she has captured from her dreams, to exorcise her thoughts.
