RE: Random Midsummer Rambles and Reflections
I suppose weather always "depends" on many things... part of my childhood we lived in Nairobi, Kenya which is practically ON the equator, but it's at 5,900 feet (1,800m) above sea level, so it's

I can appreciate that, living in the "deep freezer zone" of the US, as you do. Our corner of the northwest is definitely much milder; we don't really get protracted freezes in winter, just a

Conversely, the people who could do a good job of running things typically want no part of it because it's an insane shitshow!

RE: Our Bizarre World: Everybody Thinks THEIR Idea is Better!

RE: Half of the half ... one quarter of my hell.
Our respective toxic upbringings left us with a rather elaborate and complex quilt of "food scars," some of which continue to rear their occasional heads. Simple awareness always seems to help.

RE: When Things Get Tough... Return to the Old Ways
Sea glass isn't everywhere; you have to have a beach that is near where there has been a population for some decades, so glass garbage was created 50-100+ years ago. Often, we don't look down on the beach

I totally get the whole "eggs-basket" wisdom... we probably have near a dozen different projects going at any one time... Hive activities represent merely one small corner of the whole picture,

I'm definitely here for the very long term... in a sense, I am hoping this will all keep building until some manner of "retirement" happens for me. Even so, the wild ups and downs can be a little

I wish there were less plastic, too. When I went beach combing, I always brought along a garbage bag to pick up the alarming amount of plastic items that would wash on shore... a lot of people are — sadly

I knew about it from childhood, but not that there were people actually willing to purchase such things... and yet, it afforded me a livelihood of sorts for 5-6 years.
